Our Story
Bobbie Palombo: 1954 - 2015Bobbie had a dream, she dreamed of a place where she could take all neglected and homeless dogs, a place where they would be safe, have a chance at rehabilitation and then find forever homes regardless of their age, breed, or physical limitations. Bobbie dedicated her life tirelessly to the care and well being of unwanted, neglected, and abused dogs of any breed but especially Pit Bull type dogs. Believing that every dog deserved a good home, she never turned away a dog in need. She gave them the care, love, and training to recover until a forever home was found.Bobbie Palombo was smart and hard-working, hard-headed but passionate, a soft-hearted woman whose tears touched the lives of many, humans and animals alike. Bobbie was loved by many people and has set an example of kindness and loyalty for everybody who knew her. Rescue was her passion. Patience and never giving up no matter how bad things get were her strengths. We at BPRS have made it our mission to continue what was important to her.
Bobbie’s Pit Bull Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc.BPRS was created in early 2016, exclusively for charitable, educational purposes, more specifically to rescue, to rehabilitate, and ultimately find suitable homes specifically of the “bully” breeds like American Pit Bull Terrier, Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Bully, American Bulldog, and mixes thereof. To act as a facilitating adoption partner with the local county animal control/animal shelters and in accordance with local and federal laws. We work with the public to bring awareness to the above-listed breeds and responsible pet ownership. We will educate and provide resources regarding the importance of spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative measures, management, and correction of behavioral problems and work with low income and/or homeless individuals or families to allow them to care for and maintain a healthy and happy pet. |
