Jade passed away due to pneumonia complications on 08/18/2022
Update 02/28/22 from Jade's foster mom:
Jade was born in our rescue on July 30, 2021 with 7 other siblings. Almost all of them have found their forever home. Her mom, CeeCee who is also looking for a home, was rescued highly pregnant from a shelter in southern VA. At 8 weeks old Jade had an unfortunate accident and was bit by another dog in her face which resulted in multiple fractures of her upper jaw and punctures in her upper palate with damage to her nasal cavity. She went through 2 surgeries, one to fix the soft tissue in her mouth and the 2nd surgery was 3 weeks ago to remove quite a few teeth which were damaged and could not be saved. Jade has breathing problems due to the damage to the nasal cavity and will need a CT scan and possible a 3rd surgery to help breath better. Jade has been a trooper through all this, quiet and patient and remained just a happy, effectionate and sweet natured little girl. Now at 4 months old we would love to find her a forever home, at this point as a foster to adopt. Foster to adopt meaning that Jade is being cared for in her forever home but Bobbie's Rescue remains responsible and will pay for all of her medical care until she is cleared by our veterinarian, hopefully early January. Jade is expected to make a full recovery with some minor breathing limitations due to her narrowed nasal cavities. This will have no effect of her having a long and fulfilled life. Jade is finally able to work on her potty training so yes, she is not quite potty trained but she is smart and will have this under control in no time. Although attacked by another dog, Jade has absolutely no problems with other dogs. Jade is playful like a 4 months old puppy should be. She is good around cats but will chase them for fun (zero aggression, it is all part of having a good time). Jade is fantastic with people and children of all ages. Jade does like to pick up things from the ground (yes including rocks) so her adopter will need to keep a close eye on her when she is out and about so she does not swallow anything. Jade does love to go for walks and is getting pretty good on the leash. Yes, Jade is a shoe thief! Beware of all the shoes in the house. She does not chew on them just picks them up, runs around with it. Might be a good idea to put a tracking system on your shoes .... Jade is the biggest cuddler. She loves being close. She also literally loves watching TV. Jade has a lot of catching up to do but she is a quick learner and will steal your heart. Please consider giving this beautiful and special girl a forever home. If you have any questions please feel free to send us an email at bobbiespitrescue@gmail.com and we will make sure to get back to you promptly.
